PERSONAL.xls

The above file is more of a nuisance than a problem;
however, it has been known to get very annoying. The
problem is that each time I open the Excel 2000
application, it loads/opens the PERSONAL.xls file first.
I have removed this file from the XLSTART folder and re-
booted the PC, but with no success. The PERSONAL.xls
file keeps opening with the application. I have also
tried to search for associated links, but the Links
Selection in the Edit pull down menu remains "ghosted".

Again, this is more of a nuisance rather than a problem
with the applications functionality.

Any help will be appreciated.

try the following:
- open Excel
- hide this window (within the Windows menu)
- close Excel

You may have more than one XLSTART folder on your computer and more than one
Personal.xls

If you don't want it to open hidden then look for another XLSTART folder and a
seconf version of Personal.xls.
