Use special characters from the IPA Extensions character subset of a large
Unicode font such as Arial Unicode MS or an specific IPA font. If you just
want to mark long and short vowels and accented syllables, you can do this
with most Unicode fonts, using the Latin Extended-A subset (which has vowels
with macron and breve marks); you can use the prime symbol (2032) as an
accent mark.
