Picture manager cannot save pics except as BMP

all of a sudden I cannot save pictures except as a BMP(bitmap) and cannot
seem to change back to the Jpg. etc choices I once had???
WHERE is that option must be somewhere?? I have tried reseting to default (
and yes restarted computer) and tried the repair thing too???
HELP I love Picture manager and Need that option.......

It's time to perform some routine computer maintenance:
