Picture Manager will not rotate large images!

I was rotating images to portrait orientation and a dialogue boxed popped ups
saying that the image might loose resolution and asked if I wanted to
continue. After hitting NO I haven't been able to rotate an image again and
don't get the dialogue box. Any suggestions to fix this?

Are you saying when you click edit pictures on the Getting Started task bar the
rotate option is gone?

No, the options are all there. if I click on rotate left or right nothing
happens and if I type in a number on the rotate by degrees filed it goes back
to 0 instantly.
I was rotating the image in Filmstrip view and this apparently affected the
picture manager settings.
