Picture Size

Running Win98se and PowerPoint 2000. I have a number of .tiff images that
were created so that I can print poster boards that are 13"X19". If I bring
them into Photoshop to resize they are shown as;

3900X5700 Pixels
13X19 Inches
300 Resolution

What is the best size to reduce them for a PowerPoint presentation. If I
reduce the pixels to around 1024X768 the image on the poster shrinks down to
around 3"X2" Which is too small.

Also, I have .jpeg images that are taken with a 5.0 megapixcel digital
camera, the images are 2560X1920. Can these simply be reduced in Photoshop
by changing the pixel size and what is the recommended size.

Many Thanks!!!

TK.

Also, after resizing should the images be saved back as .tiffs or .jpegs.

Thanks!!!

If you are going to have to adjust the size of the pictures why not just
click and drag the pictures in PowerPoint until they are the right size.
That way you don't change your original that you may wish to keep as is.

That does work, but it also contributes to an inflated presentation file
size which can impact performance and can complicate the task of
distributing the presentation to other users or systems.

Will give that a try.
