Pictures and sound don't come across when forwarding emails

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. I forward e-mails to my contacts
and the pictures and/or sound do not come across when the
people try to read or play them. Is there a setting that
needs changed? It is most frustrating. A really nice
poem or message with pictures and they my friends can't
see the pictures or hear the sound.
Help please!!!
