Pictures not visable in emails

I'm using Outlook 2000 on Windows ME and just recently I am unable to view internet pages that are sent to me via email. All I see are boxes/frames where the pictures should be with a little red "x" in the corner. I've never had this problem b4. Can n e one give me a solution to solve this annoying problem.
