pictures will not stay still

I just finished designing a web page that has a picture centered on the home
page. The page views fine on my laptop that has a wide screen, but on
standard monitors and if you size the browser down the picture moves almost
completely off of the web page. Any help how to resolve this problem would
be greatly appreciated.
