If it's a nonprinting paragraph mark, click the ¶ button on the
toolbar/ribbon. If that doesn't make it go away, go to the Options dialog
and uncheck "Paragraph marks". See http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm.
If it's an actual character that prints on paper, you can select it and
delete it like any other character.
