I sometimes need to combine data from more than one pivot table, and then do
a pivot table on the combined data. Since you don't have the option of
having a pivot table display in a data list format (repeating the item labels
down all applicable cells instead of the default of showing the item once for
all applicable rows), I have to slim down the pivot table until all lines are
unique for all fields, cut/paste, repeat for all needed combinations. An
option to have a pivot table display in a data list format would make this
simple. This would also allow you to do another pivot table directly from
just the body of a source pivot table, omitting all of the page and
unselected data, and allowing your second pivot table to be smaller (file
size wise)
