Pivot Table -- Tuning ??

Hi,

Working with a user, whose excel spreadsheet is 3.5 MB, located on
network drive. Table has 4400 rows.

Doing analyzes by using pivot tables. Problem is the file is slow t
save,
very slow up to 10 minutes.

I'm just want to determine, if the file is too large for Excel (whic
is 97) and pivot tables. Or if there is something else I can do, t
help her.

thanks ahead of time

I suspect this is a network issue.

What happens to the speed if you copy the file to her local drive and work
with it there, then copy back to the network server when finished with it?

Definitely sounds like the network.
I have spreadsheets of over 10MB with multiple pivot tables and the
still only take 10-15 seconds to save (it just feels like hours
