placeholders

Greetings all

Can any one tell me if Powerpoint XP has the to ability
to drag an object (or text) onto a placeholder and have
the placeholder "grab" said object or text.

This feature was available in version 2000 but seems to
have been removed in the version - I've tried using
macros to resize images etc but this only works if all
the images are the same size to start with.

Suggestions?

No, that feature has been removed. Apparently MS's usability studies
showed that people couldn't understand why, when they dragged textboxes
around on a slide, they all-of-a-sudden became placeholders.

I miss the feature. Used it a *lot*.

So they replaced it with AutoLayout. A feature (?) that's utterly
mystifying.

I miss the feature. Used it a *lot*.
