Placing a timer on a page

I would like to place a timer on a page wherein the page
is displayed for about 20 to 30 seconds and then maybe
let a response.redirect occur.

Does anyone have a code snippet in visual basic or Java
that could perform this function? I would really
appreciate this if you do.

You don't need a script, use a meta refresh tag.
<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="20; URL=http://www.someweb.com/nextpage.htm">
or
<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="20; URL=nextpage.htm">

Will open the next page in 20 seconds.
