Play Music in background throughout the presentation

D

Dave

I went to the web search as you indicated.
I went in Slideshow, slide transition, and sound
there I browsed to the song I want, I hit apply to all

When I run the slide show no music. Plus I want to add more than one song

E

Echo S

Since you want more than one sound, you need to use the techniques not
listed under the "One Sound Only" section.

D

Dave

Okay, in english this time? Techniues not list under the "one Sound Only"
section???

At the end of the section with the header that says "One Sound Only" (which
is, I believe, the technique you used), there is a line that says this:
If you need sounds to start and stop on other slides, choose the
instructions for your version of PowerPoint:

So, please choose the instructions depending on the version of PPT you're
using. Please use the techniques in one of the following sections:

If you use PowerPoint 2000 (and PowerPoint 97 works much the same)

or

And if you use PowerPoint 20002/XP or PowerPoint 2003

which immediately follow the section titled "One Sound Only."

Head to http://www.pptfaq.com and put Sound Across Slides in the
searchbox there. You should be able to access FAQ 047 then.

Sorry, but I'm lost. I don't remember seeing anything about Technique, or if
you need sounds to start or stop. I've not done it right or missing
something completely.
I'm using MS PP 2000 with SP-3

I'm sorry, Dave, I'm obviously not explaining well. Hopefully someone else
who can do better will pop in shortly.

Care to give us a step by step on how your inserting your sound files.

The link that Echo provided http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00047.htm tells
you exactly how to insert your sounds and what sound types work with what
version of PowerPoint.

Could it be that my music files are *.wma if so how can I fix that?

D

Dave

okay,
I click on insert
movies and sound
sound from file
and from there I browse to my music file
I've tried the original music "song" *.wma and I've copied that and renamed
it to a *.wav and neither work when I run the slide show
I get a little horn icon or a record icon that appears on the first slide
"which I don't want there"
but still nothing happens
