Well - if you had a backup of your Entourage database from the time after
you received it and before you deleted it - which few people do - that would
be your best bet. Other than that you might contact your ISP and see if they
keep a backup that might still contain it - not likely, but possible. There
are a variety of file recovery programs that claim to be able to recover
deleted files, but none claim to be able to recover deleted email.

Technically, the files are still on your hard drive until something else
writes over the space they occupy.

This presumes you are using a POP server. If you are connected to a mail
service that uses Exchange Server or IMAP, there are some server side
recovery possibilities after you clear the Deleted Items folder.

Hello Maria -

It is possible you may be able to recover your lost email - although it may
be a time consuming process. You can open the Messages file that Entourage
stores email in - it keeps deleted information here until you do a Typical
Rebuild. If you know anything that is in the email you can search for that
in the text file you get. Try these steps for Entourage X.

1. Open Microsoft Word

2. Click File and Open

3. Under Show - scroll down and choose Recover Text from Any File

4. Navigate to your <harddrive>:Users:<yourusername>:Documents:Microsoft
User Data:Main Identity:Messages folder

5. Click on Messages.

6. Click Open

You should have a Word document with a lot of text - most of it just coding
for th emessage itself - but it also includes the body text of all the
emails. You can maunally scroll through the text, or you can use Edit/Find
and search for keywords or a name in the message you are trying to locate.
