Please help: Importing individual messages into Entourage.

Hi.

I did a search, but I couldn't find an answer to my specific question.

I have switched recently from PC to Mac. I was using a proprietary
e-mail program (Earthlink TotalAccess) that requires a roundabout
import/export method. I want to Export my important messages to my Mac
e-mail program, so I saved each individual e-mail as a .eml file on my
pc and then moved them on disc to my MacBookPro.

I would like to import each message into Entourage and then eventually
import those into Mac Mail. This worked for me originally. The .eml
files read as individual Entourage e-mail files on my Mac. When I open
the folder that contains the messages on my desktop, they are
represented as Entourage mail icons. When I tried importing some test
messages into Entourage it worked fine. So I went through the rather
laborious process of saving all of my archive messages on my pc and
moved them over.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to import into Entourage anymore. The
e-mails are still recognized and readable as Entourage e-mails (when I
click on them directly), but when I try to import them they are "grey"
and not "chooseable" (is that a word?) in the import window. The only
difference thatI can see is that there are a lot more messages than in
the test case I did.

Can anybody supply some way of importing individual e-mail files from a
folder to my Entourage mail boxes. They are individual files, not
mailbox files. I've done it before, so I know it is possible, but it
doesn't seem to work anymore. Importing directly into Mac Mail doesn't
seem to be an option. I don't mind going through Entourage to import
into Mac Mail. But Entourage doesn't seem to recognize the files for
import anymore.

To put it simply, I'd like to import separate, individual Entourage
e-mail files into my Entourage mailbox. It's very frustrating because
it has worked once and I can't repeat the process.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Just drag the EML files onto the entourage application icon (or, better
still, onto a folder in the folder listing of a mail view) rather than using
Import.

Be aware that the finder seems to have 'issues' when dragging more than
about 200 items, so drag in batches, if necessary.

Thanks so much Barry! It is so simple! I guess I'm used to PC where
things are a little less user friendly. I can't tell you how much
frustration you have saved me. I was pulling my hair out trying to
figure it out. I'm so relieved to have this finally taken care of. I
can finally wipe my PC hard drive and fill it up with music!

Thanks again!
