I have been having email problems since I switched to the from a Mac G3 to
G5. Here is an outline of the problems:

No global address book from "Exchange Account"

Incoming messages sometimes go to Inbox on “Folders on my Computer†and
sometimes go to Inbox on “Exchange Accountâ€

Entourage switches between “Main Identity†and “Backup of Main Identityâ€

And today, suddenly all of my emails from “Exchange Account†(including sent
folder & subfolders) were suddenly moved as one lump to the Inbox on “Folders
on My Computer.†It did not keep the previous organization of the emails.

How can I fix these problems? Our IT department works only with PCs, and
won't help me problem solve on my Mac.

Be sure your Exchange account's LDAP server is pointing to the nearest
global catalog server on your network.

Check two places:

1. Tools --> Rules
2. Tools --> Mailing List Manager (MLM)

You probably have inadvertently created a MLM rule that's redirecting
your messages. This is a common problem that affects a lot of folks.
Entourage switches between “Main Identity†and “Backup of Main Identityâ€

I'm unsure what you mean by this. When does it switch?

You'll have a "Backup of Main Identity" if you've used Entourage's
Database Utility to repair your Entourage database. You probably want to
be using the Main Identity.
And today, suddenly all of my emails from “Exchange Account†(including sent
folder & subfolders) were suddenly moved as one lump to the Inbox on “Folders
on My Computer.†It did not keep the previous organization of the emails.

Again, this sounds like a MLM rule.

If you've noticed that your messages have been deleted from the Exchange
Server because they've been moved to "Folders on My Computer", you can
simply dragged them back in place and they will be copied back to the
server. You may have problems with the dates once you do this, so be
wary of this option.

Hope this helps! bill
