I would like to know if there is any way to include Serial Numbers from
within the Project center - I need to create lists and identify each project
separately via it's own id, and I don't want to have to lookup and type it
in each time - too messy this way...

I don't understand the request. Can you explain what you are trying to
achieve I a little more details please?
