I am fairly new to mac computers. I have been using the entourage
program for my e-mails, however I sent an e-mail with pictures (which
is fairly large) apparently the e-mail wasn't able to be sent because
it was too large. However I am trying to shorten it's size, but every
time I do it is still trying to send out the large e-mail. How can I
cancel or delete that large e-mail from being sent out?

Thanks

Andy

Remove the email from your Outbox folder.

First welcome to the Mac. I have a few tips posted to help new users here:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/new2mac/index.html>

Now concerning your problem. Open your Outbox and delete the email. Next,
you want to reduce the size of the photo. There are several options to do
this.

1. Use iPhoto to send photo as email.
2. Use one of the third party applications to reduce the photo.
3. Use an Automator action.
4. Use a contextual menu action.

You'll find Automator actions here:
<http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/>

One to check out is Film Roll 1.0
<http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/filmroll.html>)

ImageWell and QuickScale are two free applications.

Contextual Menu: Here¹s another free way to do it. Download and install some
free software called QuickImageCM.

<http://www.pixture.com/software/macosx.php>

Now select a picture in the Finder and control click on it. Choose View
ImageŠ. Choose Scale by Size from the Edit button and set the picture to no
more than about 400 pixels on the longer side and click OK.

Now choose "Save As" from the File button, set the format and under Options
choose medium quality. Finish up by clicking Save. Make sure you give the
picture a different name so you don¹t wipe out the original.
