pls help -- embedded power pt in MS Word does not work

Hi ,

my user has a MS Word embedded with a powerpt file that was created in a
version earlier than office 2002. while he has no problem opening the ms
word, when he dbl-click on the powerpt file , he got the following message :
"The server application , source file , or item cannot be found.
Make sure the application is properly installed , and that it has not been
deleted , moved , or renamed"

Can anyone advise ?

Powerpoint is not included with all editions of Office XP. Are
you sure Powerpoint is installed on the computer? If Powerpoint
is not installed, then you can download and install the free
Powerpoint viewer from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...27-43ab-4f24-90b7-a94784af71a4&displaylang=en

If Powerpoint is installed, and if you're using Symantec/Norton
AntiVirus, try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with
Norton. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to
use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for
more information.
