POP Mail retrieves read and unread messages

I recently upgraded to Office 2004 for Mac from Office X. since then,
one of the POP accounts in Entourage behaves differently and
undesirably. Entourage no longer can detect which messgges had been
received previously and wants to retrieve every message in my POP
account mailbox. It seems that once I select the option to keep
messages on the POP server, it automatically selcts the option to
retireve all messages and wil not allow me to change that option.,
Anyone help me?

Sounds like the account might be corrupt. Delete the account and create
again from scratch.
