POP3/SMTP errors

Todd

I have recently signed on with verizon DSL and am trying to implement OL2002 as my email client rather than working off the verizon server. I am getting server timeout messages, both POP and SMTP. More specifcally, I receive the foillowing error messages when trying to test the configuration
Unable to logon to the incoming mail server POP3, and fails to send a test email message.

I can send/receive emails directly using Verizon, but not with OL2002 (and also Outllook Express - same errors). I have worked with Verizon and Microsoft for many, many, many hours, but have had no success. "We" think there is "something" blocking the email. No shit. Aside for Macafee firewall and virusscan, can anyone tell me what else could be possibly blocking email functionality, knowing that the server connectivity and the email configurations are perfect? I even had Verizon change my username and password having been told from MS that it was corrupt, but this did not remedy the situation

Thanks in advance for any advice.
