Populating recipients field by just a few letters

I used to be able to type a few letters in the To: box for a new email
message and outlook would recognize similar names from my Address Book.
Since having to reload my OS and Office XP Pro (Outlook 2002), that no longer
happens. I have been successful linking the Address Book folder with
directories to use for Contacts, I am just having problems now with no more
self-population. What can I try?

Thanks,
Kristin

You are mistaken. Outlook never recognized names from your "Address Book"
because that's not how autocompletion works. It recognized names from a
cache created from messages you had previously sent. Now that you have
created a new Outlook profile, there is no such cache and you must
repopulate one by sending messages. Next time you need to "reload" your OS,
backup your autocompletion cache so you don't have to repopulate a new one.
