Porblems Installing Office 2007

I recently uninstalled Office 2003 and I am tryign to install Office
2007. During the install I get this error. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Try getting .Net FW 2.0 from http://update.microsoft.com/

Office 2007 doesn't use the .NET Framework, so I am not sure why
installing it would help.

Should I install the file anyway? I don't know, so far I have not had
any solutions.

Hi Patrick,

There are parts of Office that interact with .NET Framework (Office Accounting and Business Contact Manager for example) and an
error 2998 can occur during setup of Office if the .NET Framework packages on the computer are damaged.
