porting from OE to Outlook

I have an old Win95 computer in which I used OE to handle my e-mail. I have several e-mail folders with message that I'd like to keep. Is it possible to copy the folders (I think that they're .pst files, but I could be wrong) to my current XP machine to be read with Outlook XP? (I'd probably zip the OE folders and then e-mail them.

A related question is this. Is it possible to write a VBA macro to to go through a folder and export each message to a text file in a specified directory. To do this in Outlook I have to do one message at a time; to be able to automate the process would be great
