Ports for IMAP on the Firewall?

Hello,

I currently have port 143 and 25 open on my server. I can access Exchange
through Windows clients running Outlook via IMAP but I can't seem to do so
with Entourage. Any guesses?

Both systems are at the same house using the same router, connecting to the
same server. The account is the same so my only guess is that it is a port
Entourage or Mac uses in addition to 143 since when I noticed it wouldn't
work I specified in Entourage to use port 143.

You've got Entourage configured to not use IMAP?

It looks pretty standard here, but I suppose if you tell Entourage the other
end's a non-standard thing like Exchange it might decide to behave
differently.

Try using tcpdump (or ethereal from Darwinports/Fink) on your Mac to see
what outgoing connection attempts are actually being made. There's no need
to guess :)

When it is at the office, IMAP works fine on the powerbook - it only has an
issue outside the office. I can get pop to work outside the office but then
I don't have access to many of the information I need to be updated.

(Please don't top post.)

I think you really need to use something like tcpdump on the powerbook to
see *exactly* what's going on.
