Possible to leave mail on server?

Melanie

I need to be able to read email from several different accounts but I would
like to be able to leave the email on the server for a couple of days so
that I can download copies of the email to another computer. I can do this
in Eudora by telling it to leave mail on the server for a number of days so
I can make sure weekend email days get downloaded into both computers but
then after the elapsed time it removes the dated emails from the server so
the mailbox doesn't fill up. I am not finding that option in the mail
preference or in tools. I know this can also be accomplished through IMAP
but that is not an option at the moment - the company is locked into POP

Is this something that can't be done with Entourage or am I missing
something?

Hi Melanie.
You can tell Entourage to leave your mail on the server for a few days.
You're not stating which version of Entourage you're using, but that doesn't
really matter, the procedure should be the same. Anyway, the solution I'm
giving you is based on Entourage 2004.

In the main window, select Tools>Accounts.

In the Accounts window, double-click the account you'd like to edit.

Hit the Options tab, and you can see the window divided into two headers,
one of them being "Server options".

Check the "Leave a copy of each message on the server", and define the time
after which you'd like Entourage to delete the message from the server.

Hope this was helpful.

For Entourage 04 (I don't know if there are differences in earlier
versions):

Tools > Accounts.
Select account in question and hit Edit.
Select the Options tab.
Under Server options select "Leave a copy of each message on the server"
and check off "Delete messages from the server after X days"
