Power point slides on office XP corrupted since installing win XP.

Prior to installing win XP SP2 i was running office XP on win 2000 with upto
date service packs. All slides were ok on different files. I stored one on
CDROM. Having now installed win XP sp2 and latest updates also office XP with
SP3 and latest updates i find that certain slide images have been distorted
and some slides have become blank. I previously had a lucinda handwriting
font which has dissappeared too. This applies even to the slide show stored
on the CDROM. For some reason it appears that power point is distorting how
it reads the files. I have already spent many hours preparing these
presentations and hope that there is a way through that does not mean i have
to do a lot of rework. thanks

The fonts are not stored in the presentation file and must be installed on the
system in Windows. Otherwise, PowerPoint will substitute the closest one
possible. Fonts. installed with Win 2000 are not the same as Win XP, so you may
have lost Lucida Handwriting because it isn't included with Office XP or Win XP.

I don't have an answer for the blank slides, but I would first install the
latest available video driver for your video card. Drivers on the Windows XP CD
are old. See:

Drivers and such?

I have had to purchase the relevant font.

I had updated the drivers already. I managed to resolve the distorted images
by trying to import them into a new file. In the process it reset the
original file. However the slides that seemed to have no information on them,
ie those that became blank in the reinstallation had to be redone. I even
tried upgrading to office 2003 but no change. Thanks
