Powerpoint 2003 BMP image

We have a presentation with an inserted bmp logo at the bottom of the
screen - recently for some reason when you open the presentation the bmp
logo seems to have blue streaks runnnig through it. This is apparent on
other PC's too with the same presentation, I have tried upgrading graphics
driver etc to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

Have you looked at the .BMP file in a paint program to make sure that the
blue streaks are not in the logo its self

Well I have just copied the BMP from the PPT and that has the same problem
but it would. The logo itself is part of a company template on our Intranet
so I guess you are asking if the source master slide has the same problem?

I have run some tests myself and after testing with five users running PPT
2003 v 11.8024.8036 SP2 four of them view the BMP logo with streaks and one
views it perfectly. They all run the same version of XP on the same
hardware, graphic driver updates make no difference. Likewise changing the
default printer and driver from PS to PCL makes no difference either.

I am convinced there is a setting somewhere on the PC (registry) that would
solve this but that is the problem - finding it!

Your probably correct. but, I have to ask Was it the same presentation on
all machines or was it the same presentation unique to that machine? You may
want to look at View, Master, Slide master and make sure that image is not
corrupt.
