Powerpoint 2003 hangs if I try to insert movie file

If I try to insert a movie file into a Powerpoint 2003 presentation, I get a
green block with distorted text over part of the screen and Powerpoint stops
responding. I ran the particular movie file in Windows Media Player 10
without any problems. I updated office with latest patches but the problem
persists. How can I fix the problem?

I'm guessing it's a codec issue. The easiest way to fix it will be to grab
the free trial version of PFCMedia (http://www.pfcmedia.com), and let it
work its magic.

I also have the same problem, I updated with all the patches and media player

Can I suggest giving PFCMedia a try (no cost to you) to see if it corrects

I tried the PFCmedia adn I am getting the green screen ans distortion in PFC.
Any other ideas.
