powerpoint 2003 , the chart display as red x

after I inserted a chart in powerpoint 2003 , the chart display as red X.
If I dubil-click on it it show the right data but if move to the slid it
self it does not show the chart insted it show a fram with a leftupper corner
that have a red X.
this prisintation shows the all charts when it run on other comuters.
kindly let me know if you have solved this before.
my notebook is IBM T40 and it is windowx XP profissonal.
