Powerpoint can't read presentation. when reading PPT2000 in 2k3

We get multiple errors when trying to read a 2000 powerpoint file in 2003.

KB835404 explains it perfectly http://support.microsoft.com/kb/835404 .. but
then doesn't bother to rectify the problem!!!!!??? It just blames it on the
antivirus software running. This 2000 file works perfect in Powerpoint
2000.. so it's obviously not corrupt. I have disabled the virus check (we
are running CA eTrust) and still errors.

It's not all 2000 files just some. strange thing is is when u go to open
the powerpoint in 2003 it actually shows a small thumbnail of the 2000
powerpoint. Anyone got any tips? because that KB didn't!

you perhaps need to update ppt 2003

see help menu > about
then "help menu > check for udpates"
