PowerPoint Charts

I have unequal white space between my series data in a bar chart. Is there
any way to re-adjust this? The data I have is represented by 2 entries
(densities) in the "numbered" column on the far left. I have 6 variables
going across the top (A through F) which are actually 3 variables with an
early and late value - alternating across the worksheet. ie. if it comes
through in an understandable format:

sm early~~sm late~~med early~~med late~~big early~~big late
Std Density
High Density

I need the early data in a pair of colors for Std and High Density, and I
need the late in another pair of colors. In order to do this, I've entered
data in every other column, but this causes the bars to be unequally arranged
in the plot area. Is there a way to remedy this? It's confusing to write,
so I'm sure it's confusing to understand, but I hope someone can. Echo S
seems to be quite excellent with PowerPoint. I'm new to this discussion
group and don't understand how to respond back to the person who answers my
questions, but thank you so much. Echo answered my first and only so far.
This is my second. Thanks!!

Vickie,

Is there a graph/chart on google images that you could point us to to see
what you want to achieve.

It's really hard to imagine graphs with a text description - at least for me
anyway :)

- a trick I use that works for a lot of things - is to use a "stacked" bar
chart... but put the data in alternative columns on the datasheet, leaving
some areas blank (again hard to imagine with a text description). so....

- I've 'upped' a graph screenshot from powerpoint here to illustrated the
point

Hi, Vickie. Here I am again. :)

I think you probably just need to select column G and hit the scissors icon
to cut it. Sometimes when you end up with an extra column plotted, you'll
see extra space like you describe.

Oh, wait. You said every other column. I'm not very good about visualizing
descriptions of how the data's laid out, and I'm not quite following what it
is you're looking at and why you entered data in every other column, but one
way to distribute columns equally is to plot one of them on a secondary
axis. So right-click one of your data series, choose Format Data Series, and
choose Secondary Axis on the Axis tab.

You'll need to use a 2D chart to do this, not a 3D chart.
