powerpoint locks up when inserting clipart

We are running Office/XP with SP3 on a Windows/2000 SP4 operating system.
When we try to insert clipart, Powerpoint locks up. But you can sometimes
end the task and start it back up again and it will work. But most of the
time it locks up.

Is anyone else having the same problem? Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

Tricia, did you ever get an answer of fix to this problem? I have posted a
similar problem this morning -- but it seems to occur not when I insert the
object, but when I try to move it around the slide. LMK what you find out --
maybe the answers can help both of us. Thank you.
