PowerPoint Org Charts

I have created an org chart for my office, but can't seem to get the
connecting lines longer than what they are. How do I change the size of the
lines, or how do I space the boxes apart so that they are not all practically
touching eachother?
Also, I'm trying to make a left-hanging part, with one box connecting
several underneath it. Any ideas?

You'll need to tell us what version of PowerPoint you are using. Not knowing
the version, have you tried turning off AutoLayout from the Org Chart toolbar?

If I have to draw Org Charts with many persons (and "many" means more than
four people in this case), I don't use PowerPoint's OrgChart tool, but use
AutoShape rectangles and connectors. In the Draw menu you'll find a lot of
aligning tools which help to format that drawing perfectly. If you've done
it sometimes, it's as quick as fighting with the AutoFormat of the OrgChart
tool.

Kind regards,
Ute
