When we view a presentation on the laptop everything is centered however,
when we hook the laptop to a projector (any projector) the presentation is
missing the right half approximately, it is not centered. Please help find
the solution.

No, it's not a wide screen

Is your laptop a wide-screen laptop, maybe?

Hey SB,

My guess would be that the "projector" monitor is set for 800 x 600
resolution and the laptop monitor is set for 1024 x 768. Try resetting so
both monitors (via Start => Settings => Control Panel => Display =>
Settings) are set to the same resolution (1024 x 768 if the projector can
handle it, 800 x 600 if not, but have them the same in either case).

thanks Bill but we tried that,

it seem that when the image is displayed on both the laptop and the screen
the resolution does not match, even though we set it to match.

Hi,

With the projector connected, have you tried clicking on Control Panel,
Display, Settings, change the display to the projector and check the settings
there? Also, have you installed the latest display driver for your laptop?

What resolution did you set it for and does your projector support that
resolution?

What model & brand projector or all projectors?

What model & brand laptop?

Are you using the VGA plug or the RCA plug on the back of the laptop (not
all laptops have both, most do not have an RCA)?

What happens if you configure the second monitor to mirror the first?
