Hello
Sometimes people send attachments on e-mails and I have
to downloead them and when I try to open them they are
a .pps file and I get a message saying that I have to go
to the microsoft office website and obtain the necessary
program to open the file. I'm a little lost with all
this...what do I need to do to be able to open these .pps
files?? I have windows xp edition on my computer and I am
on-line with AOL.
Thanks
from Sam

The ONLY difference between a PowerPoint file with .ppt
and a PowerPoint file with a .pps is the little s.
The 's' tells PowerPoint to run the file as a show, rather
than opening it up for editing.

With an error like yours, it is most likely that you do
not have Office with PowerPoint installed on your
machine. If you do, perhaps it is not registered
correctly or expired (with XP). You can always get the
PowerPoint viewer, which is free from Microsoft.com. Do a
search for PowerPoint viewer and you can download it on
your machine.
