PowerPoint should let me set it up to work like in Office 2000.

When creating PowerPoint presentations for older versions of PowerPoint, it
is difficult to know what features are available on the older version - what
types of annimations and shading will work and what will not. I have
PowerPoint for Office 2003, but my client requires that my presentations be
totally compatable with Office 2000 because that is the version of PowerPoint
they are currently using. Their systems are locked down and they cannot use
the PowerPoint viewer because their Systems Administrator does not allow them
to load unauthorized software onto their computers.

If PowerPoint had a retro button that you could click to engage only those
features that existed on older versions of the software, I could ensure
compatability without having to try the presentation on a computer with the
older version of the program.

PowerPoint doesn't have a retro button, but if you go to Tools--> Options
and select the edit tab, you can turn off the new features. At the bottom of
this tab there are three checkboxes that allow you to disable the "new"
functions (new as in they were added in PPT 2002). Once you have done that,
you basically have PPT 2000.
