PowerPoint Shows

I created a 2002 presentation, saved it as a pps and burned it to a CD with
an autorun feature from Typhoon software. Everything worked great. I got a
new computer with 2003 and when I play those same CDs on the new computer, it
opens as a ppt instead of a pps! If I create a new pps on the new computer
with 2003 and burn it to a CD with auto run, these new CDs open on other
computers as the full ppt. I tried another auto run software from another
company and it seems to work ok but the origonal auto run has feartures I
want to keep that the new one doesn't. I have contacted the software vendor,
did everything they suggested and no luck.

Any suggestions?

I think it's just that your file associations on the new system are messed
up.

Either that, or you've got the file extensions hidden, so when you append a
file with .PPS, Windows adds .PPT to the end of it. If you turn on the file
extensions, I bet you'll see file names like this: myfile.pps.ppt

In fact, after rereading your description, it could actually be both things
going on.
