Powerpoint template directory error in Office professional 2000

P

Piet Janssen

Iam a system administrator at a school were we have disabled the view of the
C: drive. Now we have a problem that when we choice a template in the menu
for the powerpoint presentation, that C: is not accessable and we cannot load
the templates. So we dont get a browse list with the default templates.

How can we change the template location to a network drive?

This will sound a little strange, but have you tried changing the "User
template" location in MS Word?

This may do what you are requesting. Sometimes, Office seems to work
together in separate ways.

I found a solution

Replace this in the registry.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\0838A3EF50AB1D111A27000A9CA05BF0]
"314010001E872D116BF00006799C897E"="W:\\Templates\\Presentation Designs\\"

Only i didnt find anything in de policy settings that changes the directory
for the templates in Powerpoint. If somebody has a solution let me known.
