Michael

Hi,

I have the full version of Office power point 2003, however for some
reasons, I couldn't open ppt with the full version but with the Power point
viewer.... Why is that?? and how can I fix it?? because I want to print a
handout of the PPT, but the powerpoint viewer doesn't support that

Thanks!

You need to change the file association form the PowerPoint viewer to your
PowerPoint program. the easiest way to do this is to find any .ppt file and
right click on it select properties, and under opens with select Microsoft
Office PowerPoint

when I open it with the full version, it will come out a message like "
missing part of the files". But it works just fine with Power Point viewer.
Also, I think the power point is published by a Mac user..does it make a
difference?

Your file opens in the PPT Viewer, but won't open in PPT?

I suppose it's possible the file really is corrupt, then, and you can't get
anything back, but usually if you can open it in the Viewer, then you can
salvage *something.*

viewer only let me see the slide show and do nothing else

Sigh.

Yes, I realize the viewer only lets you see the slide show, but not edit it.
I was just saying that, usually, if the Viewer lets you *see* the file,
usually you can salvage something from the file that PPT itself, not the
Viewer, can read.

And, as I posted in the other thread you're participating in, if you haven't
already, to recover your file, you need to try all the things listed in this

Is it that the file opens in the viewer when you doubleclick it or
that
PowerPoint itself won't open it (e.g. via File, Open) and complains
or
doesn't
show the slides or something?

If the former, then ... what Michael said.

If the latter, choose Help, Check for Updates and let it install
whatever fixes
it needs.
