PP Show as E-mail Attachment?

How can I construct a PP show so that it can be
efficiently sent as an E-mail attachment? I have received
PP shows that are quite compact in size (1 or 2 MB) and
contain many pictures and text slides.
However, when I try to construct my own show that size
the MB size becomes very impractical to send as an e-mail
attachment?
What am I missing? I am using Office XP Professional.

Thanks Sonia for the references and rapid reply. I am a
relatively new user of PP and am quite grateful for the
references which I will review and digest ths evening.
I'm sure they will relieve some of my trial and error
frustrations.
