I looked for a solution to this problem, and if I missed I apologize in advance. Please redirect as necessary
Problem
I want to display charts & graphs, from an .xls file that is stored on a sharepoint server, on a sharepoint page
Perceived solution
In the absence of understanding why that won't work, my thought is to create a .ppt slide that references the data objects in the .xls. Thus the graphs & charts will automatically update themselves as the data is updated
However, I am not sure how to get the .ppt slide to display as a slide, not as a link) in Sharepoint. My management team is looking for a metrics & indicators dashboard effect, and I'm getting stumped
