Hello!
I have had a problem with Powerpoint files (.PPT) downloaded through
IE6 have been shown as PowerPoint slide show (.PPS) instead.
The solution I found is to easily alter the Windows register as the
article describes, http://support.microsoft.com/?id=299824
What happens is the parameter |PowerPOint.Show.8|BrowserFlags|,
default 8, decsribes that all .PPT-files should be viewed as .PPS. If
the parameter is changed to "a" instead, the .PPT.file will open in
the application in edit mode.
If you don't have the flag, just add it to your registry.
