ppt template size for USletter & A4 printing

I am designing a template for ppt that will be used for reports printed both
on US letter and A4. Does anyone have suggestions for a custom paper size
that you have found to work well for both?

I know yours is a template question, Lola, but you might also want to post

If "scale to fit paper" isn't working well for you, you might want to
mention that (and why) as well, as I suspect you'll get lots of replies
suggesting it.
