Presentation going off screen

Hi all, I'd appreciate any help.

At first I was having problems running powerpoint. The program would run and it would show up in the task bar, but not on the screen. If you tried to minimize and maximize it, you could see it moving away from the screen and off to the sides where it can't be reached. I can run the presentation and hear the sound effects and everything, but not see it.

I managed to get the application back on the desktop by right clicking on the powerpoint tab in the taskbar and choosing move. But the full screen presentation still can't be seen when I run it.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

With the presentation file open, go to Slide Show > Set Up Show and see
whether you have the presentation set to show on the Secondary Monitor. If
you do, and if you don't have dual monitors, that would explain why you
can't see the presentation running. Set it to Primary Monitor and go to
View > Slide Show. Does it work now?

My video card is capable of dual monitor support, which is why I actually did hook up my old monitor to see if the presentation shows up there, but nope. I can see the powerpoint application, but not the full screen slideshow (on either monitor).

I made sure to shut off the dual screen option afterwards.
