Previewing a Presentation with animations from the middle of a sli

A customer of mine has slides that last up to a minute long with sounds and
lots of custom animations. If he is adding a custom animation or changing an
animation that happens 40 seconds in to the slide he would like to view the
slide from 40 seconds on rather than having to wait 40 seconds to see the
change.

Is it possible to preview a slide from a specified time on the timeline?

While the PowerPoint timeline has become a great tool, this is one of its
limitations. Animations can only be played and previewed from the
beginning...

As Troy says you cant do this.
Depending on the context & if the new animation is on a specific object(s)
you may be able to copy and paste the object(s) onto a new slide and run the
animation there.
