Printing Gantt timescale in MSP 2000

I'm having difficulty producing reports that populate the timescale in the
Gantt chart view. Both Print Preview and hardcopy show the timescale cells,
but no text in them. Tried adjusting timescale, font, print settings, no
luck. Thx.

David,
What parts of the timescale labeling are not showing? If the minor scale
is too wide, for example it shows months as January, February, etc., the
year value in the major scale is simply out of the view range. In other
words, the year value is there but it is off to the left or right of
your current timescale view range.

I don't have Project open at the moment but as I recall, you can also
run into problems with timescale labels if the scale is set to skip time
periods (i.e. every other month or something similar).

Hope this helps.

John: Thanks for the reply. On a technical note, I had a typo in my post and
am running MSP2002. To get to your point, I have a fluid range in both the
middle and lower tier- years then quarters- no skipping. It appears to be
scaled adequately, but basically just shows blank cells when I print. I can
see the spaces that would hold text, but they are not populated. I have since
tested the file on other PC's at my office and it works fine- I can see the
dates in the timescale, so it is a setting on my PC, I just cannot for the
life of me figure out which one it is.

David,
Since it appears to work fine on other PCs perhaps check a couple of
things. Is the Project installation the same on your PC as the others
(check by going to Help/About Microsoft Project)? Maybe there was an
update for Project 2002 that you didn't install (I don't have version
2002 so I'm not familiar with its release history but you can check the
Microsoft Project website at:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010857951033.aspx)

How about the installed printer drivers? If everything is equivalent, I
might suspect a problem with Project itself. Try running Detect and
Repair under the Project Help menu.

Hope this helps.

MatthewW: Sorry not to get back to you. I never resolved this problem. I even
purchased MSP 2003 to upgrade and the problem persists. Mind if I ask what
hardware you are using?
