I bought several Dell Dimension 2400s for the organization
I volunteer with as well a volume charity license for
Office 2003 SBE. The Office pack did not come installed on
the machines; rather it came on a separate CD.
I have been successful in installing Office on 2 of the 7
machines. On the rest, the installation hangs as it is
attempting to copy one of the CAB files to the hard disk.
After awhile I get an error message 319 telling me that the
file could not be accessed. At that point I have to abort
the install.
I searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base and Newsgroups and
found two things that seemed to be on point regarding this
problem. One KB article suggested copying the contends of
the CD and running the install off the hard disk. I tried
this (the copy worked fine), but the Install program lets
me enter the license key and then tells me that the
installation program is corrupt and simply aborts.
The other KB article I found talked about the Local
Security policy being set to AccessCD = No, and to change
this setting. I checked Control Panel Administrative Tools
and looked at the Security settings. Looked like AccessCD
was set to Yes.
Any suggestions??
Any help is appreciated.
