Problem opening attachment

Hi,
I have searched the forum and found one related questions, but no answer yet.

I have an IMAP account, and a POP account (different service supplier). The mails I receive with POP account do not have problems.

If I change my IMAP account to POP account I have no problem with attachments.

This problem goes for all type of files from doc to pdf, and txt, etc.

I have used disc utility, and checked that I have the full download of extension.

Every time I get a corrupted file message of some sort from word or adobe or what ever program linked to the file extension.

I hope anybody may help me on this problem and look forward to any suggestion.

If not I have to cancel the IMAP account, which is helping me in my work.

I have to clarify the problem ;)

I cannot open attachment to mail recieved by Entourage using my IMAP account.

In your IMAP Account Settings, go to the Options tab. Uncheck the box marked
Partially receive messages over ___ KB.

Or you can click on the link that says Receive Entire Message (or choose the
same command from the Message menu) before trying to Save or View the
attachment.

Dear Ed,

Thank you for your rapid response, uncheck the box in option tab helped.

At first I tried with a mail already downloaded and it did not work. Here I had to go to the source (french version of Entourage) prior to viewing attachment.

There is only one thing that confused me, and that is the size of an attachment is not displayed in the message as it is sent. It only shows the size of part actual downloaded. I missed a warning when opening an attachment that it is only partial downloaded, instead it tries to open the document.

Then again I should have understood that probably...

I'm glad that helped. If you have a message already downloaded, you can
still get the rest of the message with the Receive Entire Message command,
after which the attachment should be OK.
